A boutique winery, Moores Hill was established in 1997 and is Tasmania's first 100% solar powered winery. The architecturally designed new winery was completed in March 2017 with all wines produced on site by the resident winemaker. The winery incorporates environmental best practice capturing water and treating waste through a closed loop waste management system. Take advantage of additional land providing further scope to capitalise on this already profitable enterprise.

The vineyard is fully irrigated by a neighbouring dam and a bore, taking advantage of sun and cooling maritime breezes, town water is also available.


Currently planted varieties: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Riesling and Pinot Gris
5 km from the Tamar River; 30 km from Bass Strait and one of the coolest sites on the West Tamar, ideal for slow ripening producing wines, with generous varietal character, perfect ripeness, elegant structure and natural balance
Winters are cold, summers mild, site experiences approximately 1150 heat degree days and approx. 700mm annual rainfall
