This enclosed property, originally built in the 18thcentury, was created by renovating a former timbered pub, to which has been added a new residential building on the site of the original farmhouse so as to preserve the principle of an enclosed courtyard for maximum privacy. Now, this building offers a unique space where nature and traditional village buildings combine with contemporary living and a large private garden.
The interior of the new building is completely minimalistic. It is dominated by quality, natural materials, oak flooring, wooden windows and generous lighting. In the timber building, as many of the original elements as possible have been preserved, and where this was not possible, replicas have been made using the same production process (such as straw plaster). Bathrooms, kitchen and other equipment are not included as part of the project meaning that the future client can fully satisfy their individual needs.
The layout of the house features a spacious living room with a kitchenette and a separate workroom, a master bedroom with a walk-in wardrobe and private bathroom, as well as two children’s bedrooms with a shared bathroom. All of the rooms have access to the terrace and the garden around the house. In the historic building, there is accommodation for guests and technical background of the whole area. The well-kept garden over an area of 1,1 hectares is ready to relax in and is full of full-grown trees. Garage parking is provided in the refurbished barn.
For the perfect renovation of the timber building it was awarded the Patrimonium pro futuro prize by the National Heritage Institute in the category: Preservation, restoration of a historic building.
