The chapel was built in 1786 and played a crucial role in the social and cultural life of the village. The is not too far from Llangollen which is home to several annual Welsh festivals, including the Eisteddfod, a celebration of Welsh literature and music. The Eisteddfod is held in August each year and attracts thousands of visitors from all over Wales and beyond.Music is an important part of Welsh culture, and the area has a proud musical heritage. The area is home to several choirs and brass bands, and many musicians have been born and raised in the area. The traditional Welsh instrument, the harp, is also closely associated with Llangollen and the Dee Valley.
