The position of this interesting house in the small hamlet of Cornarolo, a district of Pantasina in the hinterland of Imperia, offers peace and plenty of sunshine, as well as breathtaking views of mountains and valleys down to the coast, about 15 km away.
Here, in the heart of the village, is a spacious, five centuries-old village house for sale. It was once the oldest and highest building of the hamlet and belonged to the castle of Prelà Castello. Since the castle didn’t have sea-view, the loggia of this house was used as a watchtower and, if necessary, they blew the horns to alert (hence the name Cornarolo).
Even after its restoration, the ancient elements such as vaults, ceiling beams, niches, wall cupboards and open fireplaces have been preserved. A highlight is the columned loggia, from where you can let your gaze wander far across the landscape down to the sea.
A small garden, which belongs to the property, is an idyllic place to sit or to grow vegetables. In a few minutes you can walk to the village square of Pantasina, where there is also a grocery shop.
