Casa Palazon is in Las Ramblas, the most exclusive area of Santa Cruz, close to the García Sanabria Park and next to the Hotel Mencey. The villa was designed by the famous architect José Enrique Marrero Regalado and built in 1935, on a large landscaped plot of 730m2, a real oasis in the centre of the city. The main façade is distinguished by its emblematic towers with windows towards the outer corners joined by a large central terrace with views of the Ramblas. The building is divided into 3 floors with several terraces and gardens and outdoor areas, offering highly versatile spaces that transcend the characteristic style of the period. A recreation of noble materials, highlighting the marble and wood in the staircases and in the furniture designed by Marrero Regalado. On the ground floor there is an extraordinary living-dining room with views of the pleasant porch and garden, entrance hall with access to the main staircase, kitchen, pantry, a bedroom, bathroom, and the back staircase. The upper floor is divided into 6 bedrooms, terrace with access to a hall, and three bathrooms, one en-suite. In the attic, two large terraces and three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Finally, on the ground floor there is a garage, storage room and two exterior parking spaces. The property requires updating and has a municipal licence for the installation of a lift for the 3 floors and has municipal and Cabildo Insular approval for the viability of building a hotel or housing, subject to the presentation of the corresponding project. All materials and carpentry are original (1935 and 1958) and are in good condition. A unique modernist jewel in the historic hotel district of Santa Cruz, included in the catalogue of the best rationalist buildings in the Canary Islands.
