The interior design of a modern private apartment with the area of 134 sq. m in Antakalnis residential area was created by architects Rytis Mikulionis ir Dalia Treinytė from architecture studio Plazma who offered finishing solutions making the apartment look integral and clear. They describe the style of this interior design as warm minimalism. “A clean design serves as a shell. You can later use furniture and various elements of décor to produce more courageous combinations,” the architects say. They emphasise that a clean space is a neutral, calm and warm background which can be complemented with anything you like. To make the final view harmonious, different materials were used for the walls of the apartment: part of the walls have been plastered and painted, some of them have been covered with veneered panels to set a built-in kitchen (appliances) and integrated cupboards. The walls in the rooms merge imperceptibly into furniture panel, under which wardrobes are integrated. Tiles in the bathrooms also graduate into furniture panel which conceals bathroom cabinets. The finishing materials of the walls accommodate the integrated doors, furniture and baseboards. The bathroom has extremely big marble effect tiles, which provide seamless look. The walls and the ceiling also serve as some kind of container for smart heating and cooling system as well as for plumbing equipment thus producing even and smooth surfaces and planes. According to the architects, various solutions used for making installation systems invisible serve one purpose – to relax the sight and mind, to have a space which looks clean and cluster free.
