Slovakia Sotheby’s Int. Realty offers for sale an exclusive log house situated in the village of Višňové, in the beautiful surroundings of a protected landscape area at the foot of the northern edge of the Little Carpathians directly below Čachtice Castle.
Čachtice Castle, the former seat of Erzsébet Báthory, was built in the first half of the 13th century. It belonged to the system of boundary royal castles defending the western border of Hungary. During its past, the Castle was handed down in history in various ways - as a gift, as an object of purchase or by the taking over by force and fell into the hands of several families. It became famous for its "bloody countess" who had lived there at the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries and supposedly had tortured and killed more than 600 girls to bathe in their blood and stay young and beautiful forever. The story of the countess, who died in 1614, became the subject of numerous literary or theatre works. During the Estates Revolt in 1708, the Castle was burned down by the troops of Francis Rákóczy. The castle has begun to fall into neglect since then and today it is a picturesque ruin with a unique view.
A luxurious brick log house made of real logs consists of a ground floor, an attic and a partial basement. The ground floor has a social area, which is dominated by a majestic stone grill with a hand-forged flue. The large open-plan area includes a living area with a pleasant seating area with billiards, a stylish bar counter and a fully equipped kitchen with a dining zone. The owners used the large space to create more relaxing seats for guests, whether with a good tea or a glass of wine. There is a guest room/banquet with an en suite bathroom. As a matter of course, there are guest toilets, too.
