Quinta da Fontalta is a magnificent property consisting of 5 buildings (four rustic and one urban) with a total area of 15 hectares located in the center of the village of São João de Areias, about 9 km from the town of Santa Comba Dão. 6 kms from the village of Tábua and about 40 minutes from Coimbra.The Main HouseThe Main House (Solar) is a landmark building in the area for its historical importance (former City Hall building and belonged to the Misericórdia de Viseu), this being a manor house of the late Sec. XVIII, principles of Sec. XIX, in good condition, with two floors and direct access to the public street.The lower floor is currently used for storage, once a former stable, wine cellar and halls. On the upper floor the noble hall of the house has painted ceilings attributed to painters of the school of Grão Vasco. It has five bedrooms, three toilets, kitchen, office and the old original kitchen of the house, transformed into a large living room with a huge fireplace.THE LANDIn this land there are other storage houses (one with 3 divisions and the other with 4 divisions), farm houses and swimming pool, a spring as well as centenary fruit trees.Currently the land of the vineyard occupies about 13 hectares and are leased for winery exploitation.
