'Bloomsberry Cottage' offers exceptional privacy in an idyllic setting, with sweeping views of the ocean and a classic Nova Scotian Fishing Wharf. Tucked away on six acres of land in Blueberry Cove, this historic homestead truly is a timeless treasure. The original c. 1850 home was discovered and creatively restored by the well-known ceramic artist Martine Vermeulen. The Think House, a rustic shed with a window to the ocean, became the studio where she would 'take something completely ordinary and transform it into something out of the ordinary'. Her driftwood compositions, linoleum abstracts and painted tiles dress the walls of the home, and a collection of her ceramic pottery with Nova Scotian motifs is displayed in custom built cabinetry in the kitchen. The property was further modernized and updated by the current owner to accommodate the needs of a large family, making it a five bedroom home with two full bathrooms. A spectacular view of the ocean will immediately grip your attention in the upstairs master bedroom, and the main level master is equally captivating with a library of eclectic titles and an inviting reading chair. Each of the rooms in the home is thoughtfully appointed with items that take you back to a time when life was simpler and imaginations had room to play. A favourite place to retreat with your thoughts or an intriguing book is a comfy place in the screened in porch, surrounded by the sounds of nature and a gentle breeze off the ocean. You may, however, be tempted to explore beyond the wide gates in the picket fence around the main yard that lead to meandering pathways throughout the six acres, lined with berries, wild roses, ocean views and adventure. If you're lucky, you may find the one that leads to the secret orchard. Located less than 15 minutes from the picturesque towns of Port Medway and Liverpool, with rich cultures of music, artistry and the written word. We invite you to come and 'sea'!
