Founded in 2004, Rocky Creek has garnered 105 recognition's and growing for their wines since their first releases in 2005. Using a combination of estate grown grapes, leased vineyards and market grapes the winery has a potential to produce up to 3,000 cases under current facilities and equipment. The winery is committed to sustainable practices, driven both by design and operation. Key consideration was given to selecting early ripening, disease resistant varietals and row spacing is wider than average with green space in between allowing natural species to maintain a healthy ecosystem. They are also aligned with the property slope to maximize air flow, which in turn reduces disease pressure on the plants. To reduce the footprint the tractor is only used when necessary but most of the work is done by hand, Eco-friendly measures have been incorporated into their winery building and best practices are involved with regards to the use of chemicals in the vineyard and throughout the wine-making process. The winery has well established sales channels through restaurants, LRS (licensee retail stores) and direct sales, including online. Product is only sold in the BC market currently and Rocky Creek has possibly become most noticed for their Wild Blackberry wine which has garnered Best Fruit Wine in Canada among many other notable awards. The property features a charming, 1900's heritage home with newly appointed tasting room, winery production and equipment buildings. With 6.8 acres in total, the 3.3 acre vineyard is planted to Cabernet Foch, Blattner White Hybrids, Marechal Foch and Albarino. There are also 2 acres in cultivated Loch Ness Blackberries for the production of their Wild Blackberry wine.
