Pavilion One

Seemingly straight out of a fantasy storybook sits the real-life 100 Old Bangalow Road, one of Byron Bay's most exotic and visionary-inspired rural estates. A stately artisan-crafted sandstone and wrought-iron entry set the tone for the magnificently opulent private residence that lies within the gated grounds. Through the gates, a meandering paved driveway leads toward the pavilion-styled residence as the enchantment unfolds.
The secluded private estate is situated on 18+ acres of landscaped grounds with established gardens, ponds, and mature trees; and a five-minute drive to the Byron Bay township and the famed Wategos Beach. Within the grounds are a helicopter landing pad and horse paddocks.
Designed by acclaimed Australian architect Christine Vadasz, the residence is fashioned as a series of five pavilions linked by sandstone garden walkways. The construction materials are well-considered to maximise indoor and outdoor easy living using oversize entry doors and operable windows that maximise natural daylight and ventilation.
The pavilions are oriented by applied Feng Shui principles to achieve harmony and balance.
Pavilion One, the main house, constitutes the day-to-day living spaces with multiple seating areas and cozy fireplace. The crme de la crme of the Pavilion One interiors is a royalty-like kitchen with its crown jewel, a rare Calacatta Gold marble semi-circular island cooking and dining island which incorporates an induction cooktop, a champagne cooler and herb garden. If a kitchen could talk, this one would say, "every good party starts in the kitchen".
Custom made in Italy for this property, the bespoke kitchen cabinetry and marble benchtops feature an appliance and storage wall that discretely conceal the working components of the kitchen such as Gaggenau refrigeration and a built-in Miele coffee machine; then showcases a quadruple configuration of Miele ovens and shock freezer/wine cooler.
Pavilion One living spaces continue outside to a covered terrace with steps cascading to a timber deck and swimming pool creating a nucleus for indoor and outdoor activities.
Like none other is Pavilion Two, a master bedroom suite designed in celebration of grandeur. Sited to greet the sunrise, the suite is house-size in itself. Attention to detail is personified with lighting concealed around the bedroom perimeter walls, white-on-white jacquard wall coverings and voluptuous window treatments and a wrap around deck. A dressing room and customised wardrobe gallery adjoin an exquisitely appointed ensuite, designed for two.
A sumptuous guest suite is located in Pavilion Three combining the best of indoor and outdoor living. The guest suite is linked by a covered walkway and has a glamorous black-tiled ensuite, and an outdoor deck - all enveloped by native flora, water features, and garden vistas.
Pavilion Four is multi-purpose as a formal dining room, home office or large bedroom suite. Its vaulted ceilings and whitewashed walls are contrasted by Japanese black timber floorboards and wrap around deck. The pool house with infrared sauna, guest toilet, infrastructure equipment, and storage makes up Pavilion Five. There is ample land for further development and additional pavilions with concept plans for a wellness centre with spa, sauna and massage rooms.
