Grade II* listed Blackmoor House is a Gothic revival country mansion built in the late 19th century. Designed by the Victorian architect, Alfred Waterhouse who was famed for designing Manchester Town Hall and the Natural History Museum. The house was built by the 1st Earl of Selborne and still owned by Lord Selborne. The house was converted in to sixteen apartments in the 1970s but the principal apartment was retained by Lady Laura Easthaugh, a member of the Selborne family.
Blackmoor House has an imposing communal central hallway with fireplace a grand sweeping staircase. A major feature is the stained glass windows. The apartment is light and spacious offering 3,544 sq ft of accommodation. The farmhouse kitchen has granite work surfaces with cupboards and drawers underneath and a breakfast area leading to the generous sized formal dining room which has an ornate fireplace, high ceilings, exposed floor boards and sash windows.
