The estate was called "Den Oever" and was in 1751 renamed “Vechtoever”. By the end of the 18th century belongs “Vechtoever” was owned by L.G. Dommer. He wanted to build an in-house chapel, he had to ask permission of the Pope. In 1797 he gets this permission and he has the chapel build. Probably it was located in the room to the right of the entrance, because of the stucco in the ceiling: two hearts and four crowns of thorns are recognizable. A major occupant was Maria Dommer. She lived at ”Vechtoever” after the death of her parents until 1840. She was concerned about the fate of others and bought the opposite estate “Endelhoven” for the care of elderly women.
