We call this the “Elements Home” not only because it brings the outside in but also because it was designed for the extreme elements of Oklahoma. Best described as “Pacific Northwest” architecture that features open floor plans and spacious windows, the house also incorporates these design elements:

Post & Beam sandwiching steel beams that are engineered to provide the home immense stability from high winds and even earthquakes. A steel beam also runs the entire spine of the home and connects to the skeletal steel that runs down through the exterior walls to the foundation. 

Outdoors-In design allows the house to open to outdoor rooms with over 14 sliding glass doors, including two that open 8 ft. on either side of the house and include screen doors for wonderful cross ventilation. All sliding doors are double pained, high efficiency with floor pins for security. Two additional doors allow for easy entrance and access at the entrance and master bedroom area. Large windows provide grand views of the surrounding woods and are also double pained for energy efficiency.
