Why?: Our area is blessed with an abundance of wildlife, such as Whitetail Deer, Turkey, Squirrel, Rabbit, and other small game. We offer some of the best fishing anywhere in the South. Pickwick Lake is loaded with lunker Largemouth & Smallmouth Bass, Crappie, Bream, etc. The Tennessee River runs through our county, and is full of Catfish, Sauger, Strippers, etc. As a matter of fact, we are labeled the Catfish Capital of the World!! With all the thousands of hunters & fisherman this area draws, we dont have a true sporting goods store that caters to this crowd.
Restaurants: We are fortunate to have several local diners with a variety of good food. We have fast food chain eateries. What we need is a specialty restaurant. Our locals will tell you they have to drive an hour away for this kind of dining. And the people in nearby surrounding counties could be here in approximately half an hour as they frequent our local diners, Walmart, Lowes, Walgreens, Hibbetts and newly opened CVS pharmacy.
